Compagnie du Rhapsode
Year
2022
In the realm of theatrical creation, the Rhapsode company explores the relationship between the stage and the audience, rethinking the dialogue with the public in the development of unusual stage design direction.
By adapting Benjamin Fondane's poem "Ulysses", the company has focused on the notion of exile: the presentation booklet must integrate the aesthetics of isolation.
A Graphic Staging of Exile
The company's iconographic choice first focused on revealing abandoned spaces, empty yet loaded with individual stories and collective history. The layout and typography work focused on the staging of exile, with graphic minimalism as the guiding thread. Photography, text, and lettering give voice to silence, and emptiness establishes its presence.
The understated and streamlined layout highlights the composition work: from photographs to lettering, from text to titles, the elements become isolated from each other to mark the sense of isolation.
